It has become a tradition that Stephanie organises a surprise trip for my birthday to some super-nice place with very fancy hotels and restaurants. I normally just get instructions what to pack – on the way to the airport I find out where we are heading – this year to beautiful Marbella at the southern coast of Spain. We stayed at the Marbella Club Hotel with one of the prettiest gardening I have ever seen – basically the whole resort is full of trees, flowers, plants, herbs arranged beautifully around the different apartments and houses – all the way down to the beach. Excellent restaurants, friendly staff and very pleasant fellow guests made it a perfect place to stay.
Stephanie organised an evening trip with a boat from Puerto Banús – an impressive marina with very big boats, hundreds of restaurants, bars – and very expensive cars on the parking lot. The boat trip was really nice and some of the nicest pictures were taken on the boat. One morning I woke up and saw the fog outside, so our girl and me went on an early morning photo tour at the beach and the boardwalk.
I used the Contax 645 with Tmax 400 and Portra 400 mainly during the trip. I took some images with the Nikon F2E, which unfortunately died on the trip after I dropped it in the pool (noooo!). Fortunately Carmencita managed to save most of the pictures on the roll of film – all colour images here are processed and scanned by them – beautiful work again my friends!
